IBM will be the systems integrator for the entire deployment and will also provide application management support for the next 5 years.IBM on Monday announced that mining firm Thriveni Earthmovers Private Limited has partnered with IBM to build a scalable and efficient IT environment.
Thriveni, which specializes in break-through mining explorations, will implement enterprise SAP ERP for improving process efficiency and ensuring greater business insights.
IBM will be the systems integrator for the entire deployment and will also provide application management support (AMS) for the next 5 years. The ERP system will run on IBM’s Systems X server and storage. more
|SAP deploys Business One solution at SLCM
Claims with the implementation of the SAP solution, SLCM has improved its warehouse operations across 70 rural locations. SAP AG on Tuesday said it has implemented its Business One Warehouse Management Solution at Sohan Lal Commodity Management Pvt. Ltd (SLCM), a post harvest agri-logistics company in India.
The company claimed in a press release that with the implementation of the SAP solution, SLCM has improved its warehouse operations across 70 rural locations.
Aimed at improving customer satisfaction with faster responses, the warehouse management tools developed by Altura Consulting on the SAP Business One application was chosen to meet the industry-specific needs including data management, perform instant availability checks and record stock movements via the Enterprise Mobility Solution. more

The solution helped the cast iron products maker to automate business processes, thereby bringing in better efficiency and integration across the entire organization.NIF Ispat Limited, a Kolkata-based manufacturer of cast iron products, on Wednesday announced that it has deployed SAP Business One solution to improve efficiency of its Supply Chain and gain accuracy over Inventory management.
Implemented by Ontrack Systems Limited, SAP solutions also helped NIF Ispat to automate business processes, thereby bringing in better efficiency and integration across the entire organization, said a press release.

|A Truck Load of Automation.The largest bottler for Pepsi in Asia, Varun Beverages Limited, faced numerous challenges while tracking its thousand plus vehicle fleet.The implementation process began with all of the master data being fed into the system. After the data verification process, reports were generated and the testing began. The system went into its pilot phase in December 2010 and went live in March 2011. Wipro was the implementation partner for this project.
Although SAP made tracking inventory a lot easier for VBL, the need for tracking truck locations and exact placement at all times was pronounced. As a result, the management team decided to install Global Positioning System (GPS) devices in the trucks. To begin with, GPS was installed in a hundred trucks. more
